About Us
Our Purpose
Located in Marietta, Georgia, the Cobb County Gem and Mineral Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to having Fun & to the Study and Collecting of rocks, minerals, gemstones, fossils, and the practice of the lapidary arts.
Membership
Membership is open to all persons wanting to know more about the hobby, no matter what the level of experience or interest,
Annual Dues
$20.00 for single or family memberships. Dues are due each year on January 1st.
Meetings
Meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, NORMALLY at the East Cobb Government Services Building, 4400 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, Georgia.
A program about the hobby is presented each month, with a wide variety of topics and speakers. There is a business meeting which is followed by an informal get-together with refreshments. Door prizes are given.
Guests are welcome to all meetings.

Take 75N to Delk Road (right lane) exit, turn right, continue straight on same road. Even though the road will change names from Delk Rd to Terrell Mill Rd to Lower Roswell Rd, but continue to stay straight on the road. The Government center will be on your right, across the street from the Big Yellow Mt. Bethel Methodist Church. There is a Fire and Police Department attached to the Government center.
Field Trips
Field trips are scheduled each month. Most are a short distance from the Metro Atlanta area, and many are at no charge. All field trips are announced at the monthly meeting and listed in our publication, The COBB-L-STONES, a free newsletter distributed monthly to members.
Annual Show
The annual Gem & Mineral show is held at the Cobb County Civic Center, Marietta Georgia on the 3rd weekend of November. The show features over 35 dealers, display cases prepared by members, and a variety of demonstrations.
